John Saber has over 33 years of experience in the consulting engineering field. He founded Encon Group, Inc., in 1995, to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and process engineering services to the institutional, commercial, healthcare, telecommunications, broadcast communications and biotechnology markets.
In 1983, Mr. Saber received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He is a registered Professional Engineer in 46 states and the District of Columbia. His professional affiliations include the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering.
In 2004, David Johnson joined Encon as Director of Life Sciences. Mr. Johnson has over 18 years experience in engineering design and project management. Before coming to Encon Mr. Johnson held the position of Director of Engineering for QIAGEN Inc., a biotech company known as the world’s leading provider of DNA enabling technologies, and Chesapeake Biological Laboratories, Inc., as Director of Engineering and Manufacturing Operations.
In 1989, Mr. Johnson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland. His professional affiliations include the Association of Facility Engineers and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering.
David Haas joined Encon as Director of Operations, in 2002. He oversees all projects and is responsible for planning, organizing, and ensuring the quality of client deliverables. Before coming to Encon, Mr. Haas served as Program Manager for an international communications company operating one of the largest internet services in the world. His responsibilities included supervising several multi-disciplinary projects throughout northeastern United States and Canada.
In 1983, Mr. Haas received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia. He earned a Master’s degree in Engineering Administration from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1990.
He is an accredited Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED©) professional and holds a certificate in Real Property Administration from the Business Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI).
In 2008 Michael Mikula joined Encon as Senior Project Manager. With over 13 years of work experience focusing on clients within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry.
Mr. Mikula earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1997 from the University of Maryland. In 2000, he received a Certificate in Bio-Chemical Regulatory Engineering, and in 2001, a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the same institution. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Maryland and is an accredited LEED professional.
Craig King joined Encon as Director of Construction Services in 2010. He oversees all construction services and activities. Craig’s experience is vast and diverse and he is routinely handpicked to head projects for accelerated completion purposes while still maintaining the project’s budget and integrity. Prior to assuming his role at Encon, Mr. King served as Senior Project Manager, Global Engineering for MedImmune Inc. in Gaithersburg Maryland. Craig’s responsibilities included: managing the construction, validation approval, project turn over packages, master drawings, and delivering each project on schedule, on budget, and with sufficient quality.
Mr. King received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Construction & Contracting Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Newark, NJ. He is a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) and is a Certified Technician with the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology (NICET).
Roy Waters joined the staff of Encon as a Senior Electrical Engineer in 2007. Mr. Waters began his career as an electrical designer in 1983 and has held positions at several high-level firms. Mr. Waters’ vast experience includes electrical system design, staff supervision, project coordination, and job site inspections for several projects around the country.
Mr. Waters completed course work in the Engineering Technology Program at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
