13,000 sq ft, 3 story addition to the Krasnow Institute building on the main campus of GMU. The addition includes a vivarium on the basement level and laboratory space on the first and second floors. Encon designed and facilitated the construction of the HVAC, mechanical and plumbing building systems serving the addition. The HVAC design included an air system consisting of 3 air handling units, utilizing N+1 redundancy. Multiple exhaust systems were required including redundant exhaust systems for both the vivarium and laboratory fume hood systems. The mechanical design included a new chiller, boiler, clean steam generator and steam to water converter in order to provide the required utilities. The plumbing design included an acid waste system to a neutralization tank serving the laboratories, as well as compressed air and vacuum systems.

UDC Security office – 1800 sq ft renovation of the Lower level of Building 39 on the main campus of UDC. The project required the complete upgrade of the available mechanical, electrical and plumbing system to meet the security needs of the campus. The existing space served as part office and part storage for the UDC staff.
UDC Childcare – 4100 sq ft renovation of the existing childcare center on the main campus of UDC. The project required the meshing of the existing building system with new independent equipment designed to suite the varying needs of an extended hour facility.
UDC Childcare – 15000 sq ft renovation of the service center of bldg 39 on the main campus. This project was an office tenant improvement project. The scope included the complete removal of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection within the area of work
