PNC Bank
Since the beginning of 2008, Encon has provided LEED, MEP and FP engineering services for 42 projects in various PNC locations along the east coast. Encon is a MEP design and construction administration partner with PNC that allows consistent MEP and LEED design principles at the PNC locations. Typical tenant fit out design services include site survey, HVAC equipment and ductwork design, lighting and power design, as well as plumbing and fire protection. We also have Coordination with other design members including architecture, structural, and security.
We are proud of our involvement of PNC’s Green (LEED) programs. Design concepts for PNC Green projects include:
- Glass in the windows three times more efficient than conventional glass. Natural “day lighting” in all occupied areas of the building.
- Reduced water usage through dual‐flush toilets and low‐flow faucets.
- Heating and air conditioning systems that use 35% less energy.
- Lighting fixtures and day lighting controls that minimize electricity use.
- Roofing material is highly reflective and reduces heat retention; and is supported by trusses and plywood that come from managed forests, which plant multiple trees for each one cut down.
- Most everything is made from recycled material from the steel structure to the carpet.
- Pre‐manufactured exterior panels reduce construction waste.
- Roof projections were designed to shade the building interior from direct sunlight.
- Solar shades for windows that block direct sunlight without eliminating daylight.
- The paints, adhesives and caulking used during construction do not contribute to greenhouse gases.
